Refined singer, Gloria Ibru as well as the musical Taliban, Oritsefemi and ace broadcaster, Bisi Olatilo are part of those honoured at the Nigerian Role Model Awards 2015. Gloria Ibru was honoured as the Most Inspiring Artiste of the Year.
The award ceremony organized by African Child Foundation at Oriental Hotel was held on a cool night as the nation celebrated its 55th Anniversary. Gloria who was accompanied by her daughter, Allula and Afro beat singer, Dede Mabiaku was so elated that instead of singing one of her songs, the fifty year-old veteran sang praises to God.
The jazz singer who has released Sugar Mama and Africa said, “I’m so grateful, I’m awed. It’s not every day that people recognize everything you do. I don’t go to charity home and put it in a newspaper, that’s not necessary. The future is not in me and not in uncle Bisi, it is in our children and our children’s children. Every single child is mine and children are the most important part of life. I thank to the Lord to be able to contribute my quota to the music scene in Nigeria,” says Gloria Ibru.
Oritsefemi who also got an award entertained with his Double Wahala hit song and Igbeyawo, while Dede Mabiaku showered encomiums on the CEO of BISCOM TV, Bisi Olatilo as he received award, other awardees are Mr. Seyi Makinde of Makon Group Limited, Architect Aliyu Osezayi of Ceezali Construction Nigeria Limited, Tonia Odili, a blogger and NIPCO, leading indigenous company in downstream sector.
