Talk of one woman whose undying love for the less-privileged is unequalled, then you are talking of extra and super care giver, Adefunke Adewunmi.

Her Black Diamond Support Foundation, BDSF, fed over 10,000 children in the slums and ghettos recently at the main bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The foundation, with their project, fed the children from the slums gathered from places like Bariga, Mushin, Ijora, Shitta, Ajegunle and many other slums in Lagos. The children were given foods, drinks, cloths, school bags and other gift items from Santa Claus (Father Christmas,) just as the children engaged themselves in different games. The convener of the NGO, Mrs. Adefunke Adewunmi, said there was need to celebrate this season with the children in the slums in a bid to give them a better and renewed sense of belonging. She noted that many elites and well-meaning Nigerians choose to celebrate at the beaches, cinemas, but fail to impact on the lives of the needy and so far that this project has been running without the support of any politician in cash or otherwise. She noted that there have been many kids who grew up in the slums and later became successful in life, and sure it was someone that impacted and celebrated them when they needed it; saying that these less privileged children too need to be checked, celebrated and visited often to make them feel they are also born to reign. Interestingly, the foundation is also having this same program going on simultaneously in the city of Ilorin, Kwara state.  Gregarious Mrs. Adefunke Adewunmi said there was need to celebrate this season with the children in the slums in a bid to give them care and a well-nourished sense of belonging.
