In an effort to douse insinuations trailing the N23.5 milion monetary pledge to nine pioneer beneficiaries of NYSC-Hope Alive Programme, Heritage Bank, has fulfilled its pledge of N13.5 million for the beneficiaries.

The payment, the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, said has vindicated its leadership of allegation that the scheme defrauded the nine physically injured corps of N23.5 million.
The NYSC-Hope Alive initiative, a public/private sector partnership, PPP, is designed to bring succour to prospective and serving corps members, who suffer permanent disability during service year.
Recall that at the 2014 NYSC President’s Honour Award, the Ibeto Group and the then Governor Godswill Akpabio promised N5 million each, while the Heritage Bank pledged the beneficiaries N1.5 million each, bringing all the donations to N23.5 million.
